UNDER REVISION…

(2017 version)

EARLY YEARS

I was born in Barcelona, Spain and moved to New York City with my mom when I was 6 years old. My most vivid childhood memory is the day I saw my first theater production: Beauty and the Beast at a regional theater in Spain. Even at such a young age, I realized that no two audience members ever experience the same exact thing, such an intimate aspect of performing that I cherish dearly. I stated clearly to my mom that I had enjoyed watching the show from "over here" but that I didn't want to be “up there." It's safe to say that things have changed— partaking in the storytelling is something else.

At the time, my father was a jazz musician and a struggling alcoholic. My mom was a two-time immigrant and single parent with a kid and a dream. By the age of 6, I had experienced quite a few highs and lows, and knew what it meant to be perseverant.

I still play dress up.

AMERICA

Though we had visited the States during the two preceding summers, I was absolutely ecstatic to finally be able to call the US my new home the day my mom and I landed at JFK in 2004.

From what I remember, I was always different. Instead of joining my friends for a playdate or an extra period of recess after school, I was either off to gymnastics or ice skating practice at Chelsea Piers, to Lincoln Center to train at the School of American Ballet, or sometimes all three in one day.

I was lucky enough to be a part of some incredible shows with the New York City Ballet. Many of the children's roles required more acting than dancing, so I got to dip my toe into the water and I was pleasantly surprised.

I later attended an open call for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and landed my first professional gig! After the most magical holiday season touring with the Rockettes, I knew that performing was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Being a part of that cast was an epiphanic sort of turning point for me, and ever since, I can't seem to get enough of creating in its many forms.
